Flux ramp modulation based hybrid microwave SQUID multiplexer

چکیده

We present a hybrid microwave superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) multiplexer that combines two frequency-division multiplexing techniques to allow given number of cryogenic detectors with only fraction frequency encoding resonators. Similar conventional SQUID multiplexing, our relies on inductively coupling non-hysteretic, unshunted rf-SQUIDs resonators as well applying flux ramp modulation for output signal linearization. However, instead utilizing one resonator per SQUID, we couple multiple SQUIDs common readout and encode the input signals in sidebands carrier by varying each SQUID. prove suitability approach using prototype argue means fundamental information theory is particularly suited reading out large bolometer arrays.

Adjustable SQUID-resonator direct coupling in microwave SQUID multiplexer for TES microcalorimeter array

We have succeeded in the first demonstration of a simple and accurate resonator-superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) coupling for microwave SQUID multiplexers. A simple theory shows our direct coupling with adjustable fractional inductance in the SQUID loop can decrease the deviation of resonance frequencies from designed values in contrast to a conventional inductive coupling. O...

Single SQUID Multiplexer for Arrays of Voltage-biased Superconducting Bolometers

We describe a frequency domain superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) multiplexer which monitors a row of low-temperature sensors simultaneously with a single SQUID. Each sensor is ac biased with a unique frequency and all the sensor currents are added in a superconducting summing loop. A single SQUID measures the current in the summing loop, and the individual signals are lock-in ...

Design and performance of the ADMX SQUID-based microwave receiver

The Axion Dark Matter eXperiment (ADMX) was designed to detect ultra-weakly interacting relic axion particles by searching for their conversion to microwave photons in a resonant cavity positioned in a strong magnetic field. Given the extremely low expected axion–photon conversion power we have designed, built and operated a microwave receiver based on a Superconducting QUantum Interference Dev...

SQUID-based microwave cavity search for dark-matter axions.

Axions in the microeV mass range are a plausible cold dark-matter candidate and may be detected by their conversion into microwave photons in a resonant cavity immersed in a static magnetic field. We report the first result from such an axion search using a superconducting first-stage amplifier (SQUID) replacing a conventional GaAs field-effect transistor amplifier. This experiment excludes KSV...

∆∑ Modulation Based On-Chip Ramp Generator for ADC BIST

-Based on ∆∑ modulator, an on-chip analog ramp generator for ADC BIST (Built-in Self Test) is presented. Technique uses the over-sample and ∆∑ noise shaping to generate the on-chip precise analog ramp with the precise control of a calibrator of ramp slope. Moreover, because of over-sample and ∆∑ noise shaping, the design of analog circuits is simplified, and is tolerant to the mismatch of techn...
